Internal Doors

The effective clear width of the door is at a minimum of 800mm.
The opening width of the door is 870mm.
The threshold is level.
The doors and side panels have vision panels.
The door handles are easy to grip and operate.
The handles are not within reach of all users.
Handles may be high for some visitors at a height of 1110mm.
Some people may find door pressures heavy. The location is aware of this and is reviewing the pressures.

There is sufficient space in front of the counter for wheelchair users.
There is sufficient space to write or sign documents on the counter.
There is adequate lighting to both sides of the counter and the lighting avoids silhouetting.
There are no induction loops available.

The clear widths are adequate.
There is a sufficient turning circle at either end of the corridor.
Lighting
The level of lighting is sufficient for the intended use.
Surfaces
The floor surface is suitable for the passage of wheelchair users.
The junctions between floor surfaces are correctly detailed and free from height variation.
The floor surfaces are slip resistant.
Seating Area
Toilets
The toilets are located in an accessible location.
The doors are lightweight enough to open easily.
There are no handrails at either sides of the WC pan.

The seats that are provided are stable.
The seating has armrests.
Seating is provided in a range of heights.
There is space for a wheelchair user to pull up alongside a seated companion.
