Location Details

Morgan's Lane
Tooley Street

Opening Times:

Please see the HMS Belfast for opening times.

The nature of the ship makes access to some of the areas below decks impossible for wheelchair users. Some modifications have been made to provide a limited tour of the ship including the Quarterdeck, the Boat Deck and the Walrus Café.

Access to the ship is via a gangway with a wheelchair lift to lower you on board. Wheelchairs are available on loan. Key-operated toilets available.

Guide dogs are welcome.

HMS Belfast served throughout the Second World War, playing a leading part in the destruction of the battle cruiser Scharnhorst, and also the Normandy Landings. In service with the Royal Navy until 1965, she was saved for the nation in 1971 as a unique reminder of Britain's naval heritage.

Their is an information kiosk that has been installed on board to enable visitors with limited mobility to 'virtually visit' the lower decks. It also allows all our visitors to 'see' parts of the ship which are not available on the visitors' route, including hospitality and administration areas, and spaces accessed using vertical ladders and thus unavailable for health and safety reasons.
